Relate ka ba sa kanila?

"Clients often seek medical assistance, and when we refer them to another welfare agency for additional support, we can only provide a referral letter and a certification. The complete and signed case study follows 2-3 days later due to our limited manpower and overlapping tasks with other programs and services."

"It's been the third day, and I'm still reviewing the case studies of clients seeking livelihood assistance. There are too many, and I'm behind on my other work and unable to coach new staff on other programs."

Anu ang kanilang problema?

There are significant delays and inefficiencies in the case study writing and review process due to social workers' inability to write case studies effectively, limited manpower, and overlapping responsibilities.

This situation hinders the timely provision of necessary assistance to clients. It also strains social workers, affecting their ability to manage diverse tasks effectively and ultimately impacting the quality of service delivery.

Ikaw din ba yan?

Are you also one of the social workers who are stressed and exhausted from writing case studies? Do you find yourself overwhelmed with clients and case studies because you are the only one, or there are too few staff in your office, while also having other deliverables to complete?

Are you a supervisor spending your days reviewing and revising poorly written case studies submitted by your staff?

Or, even though you are experienced and competent, do you struggle with writing in English, causing delays in completing your case studies?

As a result, do you find yourself working late into the night and on weekends to finish case studies? Is your work-life balance suffering, impacting your family time and personal life?

OUCH!!!!

My name is Jake L. Thomas. I am a full-time social worker and a part-time no-code web developer and AI automation freelancer.

The Struggles We Face

Through constant learning and practice, I was able to write faster. It also came to a point nung nasa direct practice pa ako na maging one-man-team ng iba't ibang projects.

My work allowed me to visit hundreds of LSWDOs, and I realized marami din pala ang nakakaranas ng ganitong problema.

Hindi man sana problema ang pagsusulat ng case study, and a social worker shouldn’t complain about it because this is our job bilang isang social worker. But for valid reasons, hindi lang din naman ito ang work natin, and if isa ka sa maraming tungkulin na worker sa inyong office, someone should be assigned to focus on it. Right? Yun nga lang, kung di ka pinagpala kagaya ng iba na marami ang kasama, you have no choice but to do it.

The Need for Modern Solutions

Thank God, marami ang efforts na nangyayari to address these gaps at marahil isa ka na din sa mga nakapag-attend ng mga trainings conducted by different agencies. But come to think of it, while these interventions are noble and helpful in supercharging our capacities, the problem stays the same - ikaw pa rin ang nagsusulat. Di naiiwasan, naiuuwi mo pa rin ang work mo; if not, you’re extending time to complete your writing task.

Many professionals in the social development sector would agree na hiring of additional social workers ang sagot sa ganitong solution, which I strongly agree with! Tama, the more, the easier! (in some contexts lang).

Haaay! Ka-stress!

Finding the Answer

I told myself, there should be a modern solution to this! I thought, "If there are web apps like Grammarly and Quillbot that can help users improve written output, then there should be a tool out there na pwede mag-generate ng content." Back then, di ko pa alam about AIs.

On the verge of exploring modern solutions, ChatGPT was introduced to me. Nagulat ako dahil para siyang taong nakikipag-usap! Sabi ko, "If pwede mo kausapin ang  machine and design it to write you something better than a professional, then this could be the answer."

I got excited. I have spent countless hours at night and weekends learning about Large Language Models (LLMs) / chatbots, and Generative AIs.

I learned prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and GPT customization, and tested how Large Language Models like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude AI can assist social workers and employees in generating written outputs like proposals, reports, and clients' case studies.

Our Achievements

After sleepless nights of study, testing, and refinement, I was able to:

  • 1. Develop effective methods to create powerful instructions that transform AI into the professional expert we need, producing human-like outputs.

  • 2. Adopt and enhance applicable techniques to structure and utilize data as the AI's knowledge base, ensuring the AI processes and generates precise information, eliminating hallucinations and irrelevant content.

  • 3. Identify powerful platforms to build your AI-powered solutions, offering both no-cost and premium options.

These methods, techniques, and platforms have helped me and other social workers find ease not just in their case study writing but in their work's documentations. From long hours of writing, case studies were professionally and expertly crafted in less than a minute.

Your Opportunity

This is not a secret, actually, and you can learn it from the internet. However, if gagawin mo yan, you need three months of learning, allotting at least 4 hours daily. You also need at least Php. 15,000 to access premium templates, materials, and training. Lastly, you need to exert extra effort to build the tools yourself, test it, document the results, and refine it until it becomes functional.

You can be successful with the right tools, resources, and extra effort. Ang tanong, meron ka ba nun? Di ba marami kang deliverables?

You don't have to add stress to your work when you can have people, who’ve gone through the process, help you solve your problem.

I believe that with the power of technology in this century, every social worker deserves valuable time to learn and upgrade their skills, spend quality time with their families, and deliver excellent services to clients through close engagement—without the hassle of spending countless hours on paperwork.
